I am so pleased with our overall experience at this Cajun place. Live music on the outdoor patio on a Thursday night. Fresh great food...cold beer...awesome service n a bill under $75! Anyone visiting Deridder LA...u would be just plan stupid not to visit this place!!!

Food is always great here and the sweet tea jug is bottomless. But NO cornbread today and I am bummed. How can you serve beef tip over rice with okra n tomaties, mac n cheese, red beans with NO cornbread. Shame! They offered me Texas toast and we are in Louisiana.

Food was great, prices were decent and the beer was cold. Servers were friendly and the atmosphere was unique. Great first stop to eat in the Fort Polk area. Highly recommend.

This place is ok for the local area. All the seafood must be frozen store bought, especially the fish. Shame for Louisiana since we get the best seafood in the world no more than 60 miles south. Is it bad food, no. Is it mediocre food you can get at any half decent restaurant anywhere in the country, yes. That being said, its good enough for most people who dont really know what GOOD food is and think a place like chili's is good food.

Food was good and priced right. Service and atmosphere great. A must stop if you are in the area.

Where to start. First they brought us one salad, thought we would share one. Then they brought us one steak and one potato again to share. Once they finally got the order straight, out came a bloody steak, not what I would call medium well. They did take the meal off the ticket, but didn't give us a pen to sign it. On the plus side the ice tea was good. Normally we get good service and meal, but not this day. The face of the waiter was priceless.

Only place in town that I will get a steak. New Orleans filet blackened isn't bad either. Like everything else in town, expect a bit too much salt and wayy too much butter. Fun place to hang out, have a beer, and listen to a musician on the patio.

This place is so dirty and gross. Big yuck factor. Luckily they keep the lights dim. Horrible food. Unsanitary for sure.

I see the bad reviews, and I hate to be 'that guy' but we went with a party of six for dinner and all was well. I had a Cajun Sampler and enjoyed every bit of it, but I know NOTHING about what good Cajun food should be, besides what my Cajun neighbor makes, which is freakin pretty good. I did have to laugh at the backwoods wanna be hipsters at the bar, but I have a weird sense of humor. Everyone else enjoyed their food too, but I don't remember what they ordered. Also, yeah, you have to park along the street. No biggie.

The Tiger Burger never fails to make up for the lack of good service- which seems to be a common issue around here.

Food pretty good for DeRidder if not terribly consistent. Wait stuff fluctuate, but is mostly made up of teenagers who give the impression that they would rather not be there. Again, food is good to very good.

Fun place to go. Fast service, even in large parties. Friendly staff. Beer tubes are a good deal and if they fill with foam the staff will be reasonable and top them off or partially comp the cost. Would go again.

I keep trying more from the menu and I haven't found anything I don't like. Pitchers of beer are the best bet if you plan on sitting and drinking for a while. I go for lunch more often than dinner but whenever I go my service is normally good if not excellent. I would recommend. One of the best spots in DeRidder for sure.

First time I am here. Was in town doing some stuff with the military and decided to come over here for a meal. The ribeye was amazing. Hands down one of the best steaks I have ever had. My co-workers had the catfish and loved it as well. Planning on returning tomorrow!

The service was outstanding. Our waiter was very nice, and he chatted with us. To that end, I think others were trying to get his attention while he chatted with us, so take that for what it's worth. The food was good. The prices were ok... not cheap, but ok. We asked about a military discount and were told that the restaurant offers no discounts in any form. OH well... Hubby had the Catfish Opelousas both times he's been... the sauce was so good! The first time, it had more of the extras on top than the second time. The second time, it was like maybe two oysters on top and then just the fish and sauce. We tried the Alligator Boudine bites and they were great, but very salty, and you don't get a whole lot for the $11. But then... it's a specialty item, so that wasn't that bad. The Fried Crawfish tails were good. They really just seemed like fried shrimp, but a lot less chewy and more tender than shrimp usually is. I had a steak. It was done perfectly, and seasoned well, but I poured some of hubby's sauce on top for a really tasty improvisation on a Bernaise sauce... LOL not really the intent of the sauce, but I did state that I thought the sauce was tasty on his fish, so it was even better on the steak. One of hubby's parents tried the Combeaux Platter and was very happy with it. Good steaks. Good choice of seafood items. Good apps. Don't get a Long Island Iced Tea unless u like the odd addition of Amaretto into that drink.

Ate here again today and had the lunch special- it was excellent! Highly recommend! Steak tips/gravy over rice or mashed potatoes, lima beans, and broccoli rice casserole- very flavorful. Tasted like something I would make at home!

Tried this place three times. Two out of three were not great experiences. 1.Stopped in on my lunch break today. Only street parking is available, but being that DeRidder is a small town, it wasn't a big issue. I requested the patio section, as it was a beautiful day out. Unfortunately, the host did not communicate with the server, so I actually had to get up and ask for my server after waiting 10 minutes. The server was apologetic and immediately took my drink order and answered my questions about the menu. They don't have a gluten free menu, but there were quite a few options. Thankfully, those options are not limited to salads. I tried the fried catfish, house salad, and jambalaya. The salad was fresh and well arranged. The catfish and jambalaya came out piping hot. The catfish was very fresh and served on a plastic fish-shaped plate. The jambalaya was flavored well with a nice hearty mix of chicken, pork, and sausage. I was a bit surprised that the tartar sauce was served in a plastic cup. For the price of the food, a nice ramekin would have looked better. My server, was attentive and very courteous. He brought the check quickly, as well as a box for leftovers. 2. The second time was a breeze. Not issues with the host and the server was fantastic. 3. The third time was down right awful. I went with my boyfriend and his family on a Saturday evening. The restaurant could not accomadate a table for 10, so they split us up. We were sat on the pation, where they had a guy playing guitar and singing cover songs. There were 15 tables in that section and only one waitress! We waited 20 minutes for our waitress, 30 minutes for our drink order to arrive, and the waitress never stopped by again. The sad thing is, one of the owners was there listening to the music with her friends, and didn't even notice the issues. She stopped by our table once and asked if we were ready to order. Then she went back to drinking and carousing with her friends. We finally complained and got another waitress out on the patio to take our order. Our food took 30 minutes to arrive and the steaks were very good. The server we finally ended up with was great and tried her best to make up for our long wait. After waiting so long for food and service, they didn't comp any drinks or food. I find it appalling that the owners sit around and don't take any actions. One server should never be put out on the patio by herself on a busy Saturday night. There is definitely a communication problem with the waitstaff and management. I also noticed that the wait staff did not seem very well trained. Our original server would only visit and do one thing at a time (no multitasking). It's sad that the service is so horrible; the only thing this place has going is the ambiance. I will never willingly, on my own accord, dine here again.

I really wish I could like this place. Good atmosphere, fun vibe, decent service. However - the first time I went there, I got REALLY bad food poisoning. The second time (I know...I went with a group and they really wanted to go there) I tried to play it safe and only ordered french fries... well, someone in my party ordered the burger (an innocent cheeseburger) and ended up with food poisoning too. Not sure why we ended up with food poisoning both times we dined there. Needless to say, I won't be returning.

This is a nice little spot! The server was quick and efficient, not overly friendly, but not uninviting. The food came out fast and the food was cooked just right. We started with mozzarella sticks, and they were really good, we couldn't tell if they were hand breaded there, or frozen, but had pretty good flavor. My husband ordered the Cecil's Cajun Pasta and, while the portion was a little small, the flavor was great! A piece of bread to sop up the extra sauce would have been the perfect extra touch to finish this dish. I had the grilled shrimp po boy with onion rings, and it was delicious! Lots of shrimp, and the bread was heavenly! The jalapeño mayo was an awesome topper! The onion rings were more like onion straws, but, still very crispy and not greasy. We'll definitely return when we're in the area!

Cecil's is the first restaurant I tried when I moved here. Though the menu is not that extensive, the selection they offer is done very well. I have had the same server both times I went, and she was very nice. The most recent time I went, the kitchen was a little back logged, but that never took our server's attention off of us. However, if we were crunched for time the wait would have been a nuisance. Everything is reasonably priced, and parking is not too bad. Usually you can find a spot on the surrounding streets.

Good food and wait staff. They have live music on the weekends. Haven't been yet but plan on going.

Love this place. The roast beef poboy with the gravy on the side and fried sweet potato are our favorite. If they are really busy, the wait is a little longer but well worth it. We drive 54 miles one way from Texas just to eat here.

We've been to Cecil's a few times. It's a fun atmosphere and it's worth getting out of Leesville for. The food is very salty, which seems to be a Louisiana staple. ;) I have to say, the crawfish tails appetizer is really good!! Good place to get a drink and a casual meal. I hear they have live music although we've never experienced Cecil's on one of those nights. The waitstaff is extremely young which can really be a turnoff if they're not consistent, attentive and friendly.

We had the pleasure of eating at Cecil's twice it was so good we returned a second time. We had the catfish dinner. The food was excellent and the service was equally as good. We don't live in Deridder and while traveling it is so nice to find a really nice restaurant and good food. This is the whole package

This place was very good. The lunch menu was extensive and everything looked very good. Everything from sandwiches, salads, burgers, to seafood and of course cajun. This place was packed and came recommended from locals. Will eat here everytime I am in De Ridder.

this is by far the best place to eat in town. I have eaten here 2 times - had salad, po-boy, chicken, french fries ( i always try everybodies food) and several other things on the menu and everything was good quality - good temp- portion size. The only thing again which seem to be the the thing in town is the child pizza is that same pizza that they sell at walmart 5 for $5 or at least tastes like it.

I luv this sports bar & dine here quite often. The tiger burger is my favorite & the bayou filet is to die for!!! They have tv's all around to catch the latest sports highlights. And for semi private dining, you can either go upstairs or to the pirvate dining room. Nice for a girls nite out or happy hour to wind down.

This place was fantastic. I'm only taking one star away because of parking. Not sure what was going on there, but it was not difficult to find street parking. Other than that...wow. Excellent service, tasty cajun food, and excellent atmosphere. Sports memorabilia everywhere if you're an LSU fan. There is a bar area and an outdoor patio area where they hold live music. Great little place to stop in for an out of towner! :)

This "sports bar" is closed on Sunday, the day when most, and the most important, sporting events happen. Terrible.

Just had Cecil's rib-eye and wow it was really amazing! Great little place to get some good food. The service was ok, slow at times but it was some what busy tonight. Will defiantly eat here again!

I had a horrible experience with this restaurant. The service at a lunch was horrible. Ten staff, three customers and I couldn't even get someone to tell me what beers they offered. When I finally received a server she ha a horrible attitude and acted like it was my responsibility to know what their specials were and what beers they served. The food was bad. Brown lettuce with the salad. Meal had zero flavor. I cannot recommend this place at all. Most McDonald's offer better flavored food and service.

Amazing spots bar near Ft. Polk. You have to try the Tiger Burger with the sweet potato fries. I tried the Cajun Sampler but had a few bites of my mother's Tiger Burger and sweet potato fries. They were the best part of my meal and I wished I would have ordered a whole meal for myself (sampler not spicy enough for me). Servers have custom-made LSU colour jerseys and the Walls are adorned with sports memorabilia. There is a bar both upstairs and down with TVs throughout. They even have outdoor patio seating and live music Thurs.-Sat. Night.

This place is truly hit and miss. The food seems to decline with each visit and the last visit it was inedible...after paying a $50 bill we went home and ate a sandwich. The fried oysters were an embarrassment, all the coating had fallen off. They were naked oysters drenched in grease, I am assuming the cooking oil was not hot enough. They swapped them out for rubbery, small shrimp (ordered the large shrimp). All the waitresses are young, most in shorts. I guess they are trying to be a Hooter's. One cute lil waitress plowed into me and kept going without as much as an "excuse me". Will not return.

Decent place. Food and prices were good. My husband noted their portions were small, but he's a big eater. Would make the drive from post back there before going to some of the restaurants in Leesville.
